LM506: Connection problems

Question:

At one location we seem to have problems with the connection. An estimated 150 WiFi access points in close proximity (both 2.4GHz and 5GHz). It’s a public area so there are many people with Bluetooth on phone, watches and headsets.

Answer:

This is a quite a challenging environment. There are a few possible reasons:

  • Too much co-channel 2.4GHz radio interference which could result in many bit errors.
  • MAC flooding problem: too many MAC address flooding to the embedded controller. Using a  newer OS kernel is highly recommended, this could help a lot. Or try manually changing the MAC forwarding table in the OS kernel to adapt to MAC flooding.
